ABOUT
Andrew Casey is a Hobart-based actor, director and acting coach with
more than two decades of experience across theatre, film and television.
A prominent figure in Tasmania’s performing arts scene, Casey has worked
extensively with leading theatre companies throughout Hobart, as well as
in Sydney and Melbourne.
His stage career spans a wide range of classical and contemporary works,
including standout performances in productions such as Hamlet, Troilus
and Cressida, RENT, and Treasure Island. Known for his versatility, he
has taken on both leading roles and character-driven performances,
earning recognition as a respected and consistent presence in the
Tasmanian theatre community.
In addition to acting, Casey is an accomplished director and fight
director, with credits including Monty Python’s Spamalot and numerous
independent and company productions. His screen work includes
appearances in Australian film and television projects such as Arctic
Blast, The Nightingale, and series including Rosehaven and Deadloch.
Casey is also a passionate educator and mentor. As Director of the React
Drama School in Hobart, he has spent many years training and inspiring
emerging performers, contributing significantly to the development of
Tasmania’s next generation of actors.
With a career defined by dedication to craft, collaboration, and
storytelling, Andrew Casey continues to be a driving force in both the
creative and educational spheres of Australian performing arts.
